Stowmarries is a singer songwriter, guitarist & poet best known for the late 80s / early 90s Brisbane, Australia band The Goths.

His distinctive storytelling style weaves historical literature and ethereal wave into genuinely unique songs.

The Goths were a permanent fixture of the pre-internet alternative music scene in Brisbane having considerable local success and recording three albums in a creatively fertile period.
Recently Stowmarries published his music on established streaming services and was astonished by the interest from overseas audiences.

In the last twelve months both early recordings and newer material have been published in Leeds UK, EP’d in Brazil, remastered and LP’d in Mexico, and have been getting regular airplay on radio in Berlin, Düsseldorf and Dortmund.

Stowmarries looks to the future. With new material heading for the recording studio and plans for live shows, there will be a backward glance to a relatively untouched back catalogue that is now attracting audiences young and old in reverberant heartlands around the gothic globe.

Midnight broke and I had something she wrote so I went into a dream
I wanted to reply, in fact I wanted to fly to that castle in the sky
I wanted to scream some long lost dream of a Midnight Queen

Midnight stroke was the time I awoke and I went into the street
And all the faces that I see, they make Midnight seem to me to be or not to be
I wanted to scream some Midnight dream of a long lost Queen

I wanted to reply, I wanted to fly.
